This magnificent route crosses Jordan. Across the ages, travellers on it have left their traces. Byzantine Christian mosaics at Madaba, the site of the Nabataean city of Petra, the crusade fortresses at Kerak and Shobak.

But the route itself provides many sights. At each bend in the road you will discover magnificent views over the rocky desert, of the arid valley, but also of dam and curiosities such as an open air shop where you can enjoy a cup of tea in the middle of nowhere.

Although it will take a few extra hours to go to the south of the country, you won’t regret it !
